Film Reviews: Caesar And Otto's Summer Camp Massacre (2009) - By Brian Morton Posted on Wednesday, July 01, 2009 @ 23:15:34 Mountain Daylight Time by Duane
The saying goes that dying is easy, comedy is hard, and, judging from Dave Campfield's new movie, Caesar And Otto's Summer Camp Massacre, when you combine both, you can get something really great!
What you have here is the near perfect send up of every summer camp slasher movie you've ever seen, combined with some great comedy. Our story begins with Caesar (played by Campfield) and his half brother, Otto (played by Paul Chomicki) beginning a normal day...well, normal for them. Caesar is going to work, while Otto is going to stay home and watch horror movies. When Caesar has a run in with the local police chief's mentally challenged brother, both Caesar and Otto feel that it might be best to get out of town for a while. And, needing money, they catch up with their job counselor, Joe Estevez, who gets them a job at a summer camp. Once at the camp (which is populated by generic stereotypes and hot chicks), people begin to disappear, and when even the thick-headed Caesar and Otto realize the danger they do what any red-blooded American man would do, cut and run!
Caesar And Otto's Summer Camp Massacre had me laughing from start to finish. Campfield as Caesar couldn't be funnier, and Chomicki as Otto is his perfect foil, these two are a modern day Three Stooges (despite the fact that they're only a duo), and will have you laughing throughout the movie. Joe Estevez is great, but the real feather in Campfield's cap is casting Felicia Rose as a quiet camper who might be behind all the mayhem! If you're a fan of slasher movies and comedy, then Dave Campfield has a treat for you! I'm giving Caesar And Otto's Summer Camp Massacre four out of four cigars, it's funny and it had me wanting more...and there's a set up for a sequel that I can't wait for! You can find out more and grab a copy of this great indie horror/comedy for yourself by going to the Caesar And Otto web page, you won't be disappointed.
