In the world of horror movies, run down or abandoned amusement parks often hold dangerous and terrible things...and it still holds true in Lee Vervoort's new movie, Gun Town.

Gun Town is an amusement park with an old western theme, and it was closed years ago after the town's sheriff went mad and shot a park attendee. Now, years later, a group of kids find themselves lost and looking for help and where do they find themselves? You got it, Gun Town! And now, not only is it closed, but it's still being inhabited by the sheriff and his deranged family...who lie in wait for lost tourists.

Gun Town is a really cool movie, part Texas Chainsaw, part Funhouse (two Tobe Hooper movies that I particularly love), and all cool horror flick. The Sheriff’s mask is haunting and makes the character one that will probably live on in sequels...I hope, and, while the story isn't as wild and unpredictable as you might expect, it's still a good story and the acting is great. Vervoort has taken a low budget and really got the most out of it. I'm giving Gun Town 3 out of 4 cigars, it's not perfect, but it's still a really cool horror flick with an original tone. You can find out more for yourself by heading over to the Gun Town movie web site.
