I had a guy ask me the other day, what horror movie do you recommend for Halloween? When I suggested Texas Chainsaw, he balked. He'd seen it and hated it...so I put him on my list. But it got me to thinking, what movies does everyone recommend to people who ask? My usuals, besides Chainsaw, are Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, Dead Alive and I just added Audition to my recommend list. I'd be interested to see what eveyone else recommends when someone asks. _________________ Remember what Dino DeLaurentis said when he was asked to add an 'after story' to his 70s remake of King Kong..."When Monkey Die, Everyone Cry, The End"

Did you make sure to let the guy know you're talking about the 1970's original (which I assume you are)? If he still gave you such a reaction, I'm afraid there's only one answer... MURDER. That's what I'd do at least
As for my reccomendations, well, people have learned not to ask me for my opinion The Beyond, Suspiria, Tenebre, The Evil Dead (A#1 if they haven't seen it), Hellraiser, Dead & Buried, The New York Ripper, Maniac, etc. _________________ Josh Samford

Anyone who says they saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and didn't like it doesn't like horror movies. It's that simple. The correct response, in my mind, would be to tell them to hook up with something more to their style.
Operation Dumbo Drop perhaps?
Or... Honey, I Shrunk The Kids?
There are two types of people in this world... those who love horror movies... and those who have not yet seen a horror movie. Or maybe I should re-phrase that:
There are two types of people in this world... those who love horror movies... and stamp collectors. If you ever have the misfortune of meeting a stamp collector, I suggest you run for your life.
The next step would be to punish this person by lending them a horror masterpiece (ha!) such as Killer Nun - which, for all ye uneducated masses, is comparable to the death penalty in most countries.
My question: has anyone else out there seen the wonder that is Killer Nun?

Nope, never even really heard of it to my knowledge but I do loves me some Nunsploitation and the thought of a KILLER nun is even better! _________________ Josh Samford

I saw one recently called The House On The Edge Of The Park that fits with the rape revenge genre. Weird violent flick, but not too bad for a 70s flick. _________________ Remember what Dino DeLaurentis said when he was asked to add an 'after story' to his 70s remake of King Kong..."When Monkey Die, Everyone Cry, The End"

Directed by one of my favorite directors of all time, Rugerro Deodatto Who brought us such classics as Cannibal Holocaust, Jungle Holocaust and Cut & Run
A great flick. It may just be simple exploitation, but tell me that flick doesn't mess with your head. I mean, by the end, just who are you supposed to root for? _________________ Josh Samford

Merry Christmas! Here it is! Don't watch it though - it's crap beyond words. And I'm not talking the funny, cheesy good crap we all like. This is coma-enducing shite.
Oh, and it's not porn either (before you get your hopes up) - myself and the rest of my crew were already dissapointed by this. Anyhow, enough prattle:

Looks like it has several pretty decent reviews there on amazon. I guess some people just like anything as long as it has blinky lights and flashing colors. _________________ Duane L. Martin Webmaster - B-Movie Central Editor / Webmaster / Staff Writer - Rogue Cinema

Blinky Lights and Flashing Colors!!!!! Those are my favorite things! Except when they run up the wall and I can't chase them!!!! I hate it when that happens. _________________ Remember what Dino DeLaurentis said when he was asked to add an 'after story' to his 70s remake of King Kong..."When Monkey Die, Everyone Cry, The End"
Seriously guys, check out Killer Nun. It is officially the third worst movie ever (behind Nimphoid Barbarian and Castaway.) Nimphoid Barbarian - now THERE'S A CLASSIC. I think there's, like, 3 words in that whole movie.
As for the MORONS who gave Killer Nun good reviews. Well, maybe there's a fetish group out there for people who like lesbian homicidal nun movies with dubbed over voices. Perhaps there's a limited edition version of the DVD that's wrapped in silver foil - you know how people love shiny things.

Hey! Shiny Silver Foil! Where do I get that?? Bright shiny things are my favorite, along with truly bad movies. I'm heading out this weekend to rent Killer Nun...that's before I buy the sparkly special edition! _________________ Remember what Dino DeLaurentis said when he was asked to add an 'after story' to his 70s remake of King Kong..."When Monkey Die, Everyone Cry, The End"
Well, since this post has continued into the Christmas season, I thought I'd try a couple of good horror flicks for the holidays:
Jack Frost: The Killer Snowman (or Jack Frost II: Revenge of the Killer Snowman)
Satan Claus (horrible film, but relevant for the holidays)
Dead Alive (this movie is appropriate for any holiday)
